TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF

Hello everyone! My name is Luna, and I am a PCD through DONA. I’ve been supporting families in the San Antonio area since 2022, helping them navigate the postpartum period with confidence and care. As the oldest of three, I naturally developed a strong foundation in both childcare and personal care from an early age. When I’m not working with new parents, I’m passionate about learning and staying engaged with my community. In my free time, you’ll usually find me exploring new restaurants, staying active at the gym, or indulging in anything related to painting and creativity.

HOW DID YOU COME TO DOULA WORK?

My journey into postpartum doula work began when I saw close friends struggle with the challenges of early parenthood. Many of them had little to no knowledge of postpartum care, and I witnessed firsthand how that lack of support affected their well-being. That experience inspired me to step in, learn, and ultimately dedicate myself to helping parents in my community feel supported, informed, and empowered during their transition into parenthood.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST OR FIND MOST REWARDING ABOUT DOULA WORK?

I truly love being a support system for new parents during such a vulnerable and transformative time. Knowing that I can be a source of reassurance, guidance, and comfort when they need it most is incredibly fulfilling. My goal is to help parents feel seen, heard, and empowered, so they never have to navigate postpartum alone. Also, the cute babies are a plus!

WHAT ARE YOUR SPECIALTIES OR AREAS OF PARTICULAR PASSION?

My specialties as a postpartum doula include emotional support for new parents, newborn care, and helping families establish sustainable routines. I’m particularly passionate about supporting parents’ mental and emotional well-being during the postpartum period, ensuring they feel confident in their new roles. With training in trauma-informed care, I provide a compassionate, judgment-free space for parents navigating difficult experiences. I also have a background in supporting young families, first responder families, single-parent families, low-income families, and multicultural families. This has allowed me to support many families throughout my journey as a postpartum doula.
