TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF

I'm Jasmine, a proud mother to an incredible 6-year-old boy. When I'm not busy with birth work, you'll usually find me discovering new restaurants, binge-watching my favorite shows, or spending quality time with my community and loved ones. I was born and raised in Southern California but now call Texas my home.

HOW DID YOU COME TO DOULA WORK?

My journey into doula work was born from my own personal experience with postpartum struggles. After having my son, I found myself facing a difficult and challenging time. I felt overwhelmed and isolated, and as I sat with those feelings, I thought, there has to be a better way to bond, recover, and truly enjoy life during the postpartum period. It was during this time that I realized how crucial it is to have the right support—both for the baby and the mother.

I came to understand that while it takes a village to raise a child, it equally takes a village to support and heal a mama. We, as mothers, are often left with emotional and physical wounds after childbirth—ranging from sleep deprivation to the struggles of breastfeeding, navigating boundaries, returning to work, and regaining a sense of ownership over our bodies. These unspoken struggles can feel overwhelming, and it’s easy to feel as though we’re alone in them.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST OR FIND MOST REWARDING ABOUT DOULA WORK?

My passion as a doula is deeply rooted in walking in my purpose. It's rare to find a career that both nourishes the soul and meets financial needs, and I’m grateful to have found that in this work. Being invited, welcomed, and trusted into such vulnerable moments means the world to me. I don’t take it lightly that, during a time when individuals and families are entrusting me with their most precious gifts, I get to witness my purpose in real time.

WHAT ARE YOUR SPECIALTIES OR AREAS OF PARTICULAR PASSION?

I truly enjoy meeting people where they are on their unique journey through life. With experience supporting a variety of birth and postpartum families, I don’t necessarily specialize in one niche, though the journey of first-time parents holds a special place in my heart.
