This was our first pregnancy and we needed all the care, advice, and support we can get…Yoly our doula absolutely delivered. My husband and I learned the stages of labor & birth as well as what to expect for postpartum. Our questions & concerns were answered from day one, but, what truly mattered was the love and support during the LONG labor. Yoly was like a big sister, who braided my hair, taught me how to manage the pain, showed my husband how to actively be involved, and allowed him to rest even when she herself was tired. Although this might not mean much to many…I loved that I could communicate to her in my native language, Spanish, I could genuinely say what came to mind without translation. The icing on the cake was the fun activities “homework” she assigned during our pregnancy to help us as a couple visualize the type of birth we wanted along with frequent checking-ins to make sure we both were okay. Yoly was not only there for me but for my partner as well and that made the biggest difference in the world.
